: There was a subplot where the gov't was trying to hire Will to work in intelligence and code-breaking, etc., and there were some semi-"action" scenes surrounding Will trying to shake the feds (who had him tailed), but overall, the original drafts aren't too different from the finished film at all. The main difference is the character that Stellan Skarsgard played, who was added to later drafts when the whole gov't subplot got dropped.
