get a rough story 1-2 pages long, explain the situation in that. I then construct a framework by expanding the story then breaking it up into scenes, I write the location, the action that happens, the main characters motivations in it. I then use the framework to write the rough draft on 2-3 notebooks. I then revise it a few times in different colored inks. Then I type into the computer, revising there also. I then print a copy of it and revise it on paper again. I do this 3-5 times until it becomes good enough for my tastes. The printing out and revising in ink is a little bit more costly for beginners but it really saves the old eyeballs. I end up with about 1000+ sheets of different editions usually.

: how do you fellow screenwriters usually come up with ideas for you scripts? does it usually pop into your head one day? thats usually what happens with me. just pops into my head and i write it down, then expand and modify. just curious as to how everyone else does it.
