eh...I waver between yes and no on the 'is this a football movie?' question. Rod Tidwell didn't necessarily HAVE to be a Cardinals wide receiver; with his personality, the character could have just as easily been an arrogant San Francisco Giants outfielder (whoops, getting off on a tangent there, sorry).
The amount of football in the movie could qualify it for most, though.
