Naw dude, a squire aint bad at all for your first

if its new, fenders are great to learn on

if you save up and buy something expensive and you arent as interested 2 months later, then you're out a lot of that money in resale. Where you could easily get rid of a fender and lose a lot less money. For like, 25$ you can get your bridge lowered and for an affordable amount get nice pickups, so if you stick with it you could upgrade affordably or just sell it and buy something better. But most squires are fine anyway. The sustain isnt as nice on my SG as it is on my squire, but i have a lot nicer fretboard than anything fender makes. Fenders dont compare to Gibsons. On that note, look into epiphones as well, the "squire" if you will of Gibson. They are very affordable and IMO much nicer than fenders.

im in a band in orlando

where do you live?
