- which is BARELY widescreen with very minor black bars- so minor, in factm that on a lot of TVs you might not even see them due to overscan.
One shot is matter to 1.66:1, so it should show up as widescreen with visible black bars.
Dunno what's wrong with your DANGEROUS LIVES OF ALTER BOYS dvd, but you *MIGHT* have your DVD player set to "4:3 pan-and-scan" instead of "4:3 letterbox". Go into your DVD player set-up menu and set it to "4:3 letterbox" and everything should be cool. Some DVDs are encoded in widescreen, but have a mode where the DVD player will display it in pan-and-scan if your DVD player is set to playback in "4:3 pan-and-scan" mode. So long as your player is set to "4:3 letterbox", the DVDs will play in the proper widescreen format.

: i recently rented "dangerous lives of altar boys", and i noticed that it was not in widescreen. the box said it was, but my tv was chopping off the sides. i recalled that my copy of "a better place" full screen when i watch it, so i looked on the back and sure enough, it says it's supposed to be widescreen. so the question is, is my copy fucked up? or is it my tv or my dvd player? if anyone has experienced this or knows what the problem might be, please let me know. thanks.
