To be perfectly honest, that butterfly landed there literally by accident right before we filmed the take, so we hurried to film the take and done got it on film. Then, amazingly enough, right before we filmed take two that friggin' btterfly done landed on his shoulder again! So we totally got two good take of Todd walking away with that butterfly on his shoulder. I took it as a sign or sumthin' that we were doing something right...
I suppose I should say that it was totally planned entirely by me and that the butterfly symbolizes Todd's soul and its connection with nature and that it's about to be let free or sumthin, but I'm too honest- the butterfly was just a happy accident that happened to add a layer of meaning to the film. It was entirely unplanned but just happened on the spot, and I used it to my advantage.

: I understand the butterfly landing on Todd's shoulder (i think that is the right name) has some kind of symbolic meaning. I fail to grasp the intended meaning of it. Can someone help me out with this?
