: When you are writing a script how do you know when it is long enough? Like how do you judge the amount of words or pages you have written to equal a certain amount of time? For example for a 90 minute movie how long would the script be?
David Trottier's book, The Screenwriting Bible has just about all you need to know about screenwriting - writing, formatting, networking, query letters, inc.
Also, industry standard for screenplays is 1 page per minute, so if you want to write a 90 minute movie, it should be 90 pages long.
