was the way it would expand what animation could be. If a sitcom ended on a note like that, it wouldn't seem nearly as out-of-place or commentworthy. Last years ep where Bender became God to a small race of people had a comprable ending; not exactly depressing, though he did wind up wiping out the entire race I believe, but thought-provoking.
Too bad it's gonna be all done soon.
