It was David Spade - he came back to host the show and had this great bit on Weekend Update - it was the Hollywood Minute (or Spade in America, can't remember) and he said "I can't make fun of celebs anymore ... but he can" and pulls out a David Spade puppet.
He was doing the normal Hollywood Minute stuff and came to Alanis and said "Hi, I'm Alanis Morissette. I'm the number one rock star in America, and I've sold more albums than any other female artist ever. Now what should I do? I know, make a video showing my moster box"
I laughed too, even though he was making fun of my one true love.
