Well, movies like anything else, are a very personal thing. What you like may not be what I like. Whether or not you have a Dolby Digital sound system might affect how you like certain films. I'll give you the list of what DVD's I have in my collection after two years:
Apocalypse Now
Apollo 13
The Best Of Beavis & Butthead (3 discs)
Boogie Nights
Bull Durham
Clerks
Caddyshack
Dazed And Confused
Dogma (SE)
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
A Hard Day's Night (SE)
Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone
Jerry Maguire
Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same
Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Pulp Fiction
South Park - Chef Aid
Star Wars, Episode I - The Phantom Menace
Star Wars, Episode II - Attack Of The Clones
Strange Brew
This Is Spinal Tap
U-571
This may give you some ideas. Obviously, the action films like Star Wars or U-571 are a little better if you have the killer sound system, but if I didn't have one myself, I'd still want to own the DVDs I currently possess.
