We are not doing the morning show this week because we have half
days, so our teacher gave us a pep talk on spicing it up and bringing
it to the next level. He asked us for original segment ideas.
One suggested was sports news, fine, do-able...in fact, done.
Another was entertainment news/reviews, fine, do-able...in fact, done.
Then it was suggested that we read the lunch items every day that day
and tell everyone what is for lunch. I then brought it to the next
level.
What I want to do is:
- Live up to the minute lunch coverage, such as "Jeremy, we have just
gotten word that todays lunch item has been changed from tater tots
to mashed potatoes. This will no doubt disappoint the tot
afficianados who have been anticipating this day all week. Stay tuned
for more coverage on Tot Turmoil 2002"
- Crisis coverage, i.e. out of ketchup, a flavor of snapple, or in
this case tator tots. For example coverage of a live rally for tater
tots in schools.
- Breaking news, potentially new lunch menu items. For example "In a
lighter note(maybe after the tot coverage) there are rumors
circulating around suggesting the school board and lunch room
facility may be looking for a way to spice up lunches and bring us
back to the meals of yesteryear. The hot lunch item this year that
will tentatively be debuted after we win our fourth consecutive state
championship and will be called "J-I-L-K" or Jilk. The item is
allegedly milk with no altered taste, but colored red and black in
the spirit of the jaguar. This is certainly an interesting
development, we will bring you more as we get it."
Also, for the thanksgiving morning show Pedro will be dressed as a
turkey, I, being the whitest person around, will be a pilgrim and
come and shoot him, and an indian will come and kill me and baste
Pedro on-air, so we can credit him as master-baster.
I also want to do a weekly advice column where people write in, and
if they don't, I make something up.
Now I need your serious ideas for segments, or ideas that fit in with
mine.
