first off, your arguement about not being able to review movies until you have made one is very flawed. ever bitch about a meal at a restaurant? a stay at a hotel? the ending of a published novel? a call by a football head coach? all of these would therefore be invalid since you have never been involved in those activies...
also, i was not ripping on smith, i adore his films, but thus far, between the two filmmakers, PTA has the wider and more artistic body of work. whether that is better or not than smith's is the viewer's opinion, but if you look at the two filmmakers one has wahlburg's dick, dropping frogs, and sandler going all the way to 11, where the other has shit covered pretzel, jay and silent bob, jay and silent bob, jay and silent bob, affleck, affleck, . . . .
i think that is one reason he is going to jersey girl, to get away from the repetition that was happening in the past few movies...
and i was merely asking smith's opinion since i am curious how he reacted and am respective of his film opinion
