i also have to admit that during the film i was a bit upset with PTA because it was so slow moving and not funny at all...what i was impressed with after was..
1. his ability to take the character that sandler has played in every film to date (slow-witted, sometimes loud, sometimes soft) character and give him a reason for being the way he was (the abuse of his sisters)
2. in addition to this was the way he pushed sandler to the edge both ways. sandler was much meeker than in any of his films, and also had the rage that was evident throughout his work, but pushed that all the way to eleven.
3. the use of ordinary comedic conventions as background filler. guzman falling over in the chair, the truck out of control and into a wall, guzman testing the unbreakable plunger...all of that action happened in the background and were seen as unimportant, where, in any other 'comedy' movie, these instances would be dramatized and brought to the forefront of the film...
thats all i got now
