it's mixed for me.
I would have liked it a lot more if they hadn't called it Final Fantasy.
I want my Fantasy to have more Fantasy and less Sci-Fi. I know it's all speculative fiction, but still...
Also, I didn't really dig scaling back on characters. After the huge load of characters in VI(3 if you want) the small total in 7 wasn't nearly as cool... plus, some of the characters were lame addons that weren't even neccessary.
I liked Seven, but in the overall scheme, it wasn't in my favorites.
If I drew a diagram though, it would be close to the pack but in last... but 8... well, you wouldn't even be able to see it with binoculars.
