A goofball??? Did you see the Fletch movies??? He's a wise-ass know-it-all in those movies. You must be thinking of Vacation when you think about Chevy being a goofball... Chevy is the way Fletch should be because Chevy IS Fletch.
No offense to Jason, but this could be a huge flop for him. When people think of "Fletch" they think of Chevy Chase. If Jason can't fill his shoes as Fletch (which I think he can't,) than he's in for a long ride with this one.
