If you want a good "Spider-Man" story with not a lot of confusing history and baggage attached to it, get "Ultimate Spider-Man". Well, I'm also an avid fan of John Constantine, and "Hellblazer" is definitely a good read, so you may consider it, though it may be confusing and hard to pick up on. Also, Kevin Smith's run on "Green Arrow" was VERY well done. (And I'm not just saying that because it's Kevin Smith.)
