Vincent Pereira is a genius and Eion Bailey is a star!! These are facts!
The world (and The Industry) just have to catch up.
Not to dis VULGAR or anything (I actually enjoy that smutty little handjob of a flick), but I've always felt that A BETTER PLACE was the non-Smith VA project which deserved all the attention. I hope it knocked Clive Barker on his talented (if self-indulgent) arse and reminded him of where he came from. Picture Eion Bailey starring in a film version of Barker's GREAT AND SECRET SHOW (as Howie, I'm thinking)!!
: i only watched about half of the commentary track ...
Speaking of commentary tracks, here's a fun game you can try:
Go to scene selection, select the last scene and let it play out. Afterwards, find the second page of the Special Thanks section and select "pizza guy" from the list and then hit "enter."
You'll thank me later.
: pleae excuse the fact that i already forgot all the character names in the movie. cept for ryan
The names Barrett and Todd also appear in the film. For the life of me, however, I've NEVER been able to remember the name of Meg's boyfriend.
: when ryan kills that guy at the end of the movie, the asshole jock, there is one shot that finally kills him off. its when rayn blows the guys brains out, and a huge wave of blood pours out of his mouth. i wasnt really fond of that shot in particular. i thought it sorta made it lose the emotional edge that scene had. it didnt look that impressive technically, and im not to sure why, but i felt it really wasnt neccesary.
I'm not trying to pick a cyber fight or anything, but if you've ever seen a real human being's mouth gush blood, it never looks good. All of the blood (and snot) in ABP is ugly just as it should be.
