I posted once before about an idea my friend and I have been developing for a new television network, and the legal issues concerning how to protect the idea. The idea has come a long way. We are almost 100% prepared to start talks with other networks or investors, but I'm still at a loss when it comes to protecting the idea I'll be whoring around. It can be copywritten, but that only protects the written proposal -- not the idea. The idea isn't patentable because it is not, and never will be, a tangible object.

The only possibility I can think of is to have everyone that we propose this idea to sign some type of intellectual property acknowledgement form or non-disclosure agreement. I'd imagine production companies deal with it day in and day out, but I certainly haven't.

Any ideas? Thoughts?
