: But if you happen to be a fan of Buffy, could you or anyone else reading this who is a fan tell me what the appeal of that show is? I know that it has some hot actors and actresses on it and all but it's so fucking campy and stupid that it makes me want to vomit every time I see an episode running.

Yeah the dudes are hot, but also sometimes it's a little allegory/metaphor for normal teenage life and stuff. I'm not saying it's super brainy or anything, just that if you wanted to you you dig deeper. Like one episode, Dawn sneaks off with some other teenager and they get into trouble, then go to a car point thing to make out etc. The boys turn out to be vampires. Lots quotes like, vampire boy to vampire boy "shall we go all the way with them?" meaning shall we turn them into vamps too or just drink. Or when he says to Dawn "don't worry, it'll only hurt at first". It's shallow but it is there. Basically it's good entertainment.

: I mean the fucking vampires are so weak that all it takes is a piece of wood through their chests to kill them which makes no sense because they are supposed to be bullet proof and all that shit, and you don't even have to have super strength like Buffy to stake one of them cause I've seen the normal characters on the show kill vampires that way too. Which begs the question, what the hell do they need Buffy for then anyway? I think they should have made the vampires harder to kill and given them more powers like the ability to fly, move super fast, change form, hypnotize people, and all that shit. I know a lot of the time she fights demons and goddesses and killer robots and things but the name of the show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, not Buffy the God killer or Buffy the Cyborg Destroyer.

You kill a vampire by driving a stake through their heart. Duh! She is primarily a vampire slayer, but also deals with other demons and nasty creatures.

: There is also no consistency in the toughness of the characters. For instance, most of the time Spike and Buffy will be pretty evenly matched when they fight, but then Buffy will totally kick the ass of someone, who just beat the shit out of Spike, without even trying.

Good point, I hadn't noticed that.

: And don't even get me started on questions why of all these endless plots to destroy then world always seem to take place in that backwoods hick town that she lives in or why anybody would choose to still live in that town after all the shit that has happened there.

Cause Sunnydale is a Hellmouth. A point of mystical convergance or something, means there are lots of nasties there.

God I hope I'm not coming off like a total geek here! I like the show, I'm 17, the characters are hot, it's not too taxing, it's funny, it's slightly clever if you want to go into that, it's good harmless entertainment. It has characters that most teenagers can relate to, albeit not with the defending the world from the forses of darkness kind of way. It's good fun!
