Ronin:
- Frankenheimer is all business in this commentary. He talks lenses, lighting, staging, working with the actors...it's not very entertaining, but if your into the nuts & bolts of John's taut, intellectual thriller-style, this title is very decent
Hard Eight:
- Love him or hate him, PT Anderson is very keen on sharing info about getting an indy made on this tape.
Silence of the Lambs: Criterion Ed
- Kick ass. Jodie Foster is a bit of a mic hog, but generally has interesting things to say, both regarding her performance, and also, the development of the film as a whole. Tony Hopkins, is a veritable captain quaalude throughout the commentary, but shares some fun anecdotes and gives some wonderful insights into the development of his Hannibal. Demme ties everything together, from both Tony, and Jodie, and the film as a whole. Too bad this title isn't made any more...it's the joint.
The Adjuster
- Atom Egoyan...just shut the fuck up and listen to this guy. Some might call it pretentious, Art-house, spank, but those people would be idiots. 'The Adjuster,' may be a little too artsy for the virgin Egoyan viewer, in which case I suggest checking out 'Exotica' which is a little more accessible.
Rushmore
- If you hated the movie...fuck it. If you loved the movie, you'll love the commentaries. If you're merely intrigued by Wes Anderson's storytelling style, you won't be dissapointed as there is alot of technical discussion.
