Am I the only person becoming more and more disappointed by the Jenkins’ run on Peter Parker?

I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that Kevin just wrote a pretty good Mini, Bendis is kicking ass with Ultimate, J.M.S. is kicking equal ass on Amazing and he’ll get a new book with Romita Jr. once Kev. takes over for him on Amazing.

Overall, Jenkins just doesn’t seem to have the same crisp writing style that I’ve grown to expect from the other books… it’s not even just the Spider-Man titles. Ultimates, every other Bendis book and so on… they all seem less contrived than the stuff Jenkins is doing. I love his one shots and I think he’s a great writer, but I think he might be better suited to take over Tangled Web full time. The tangled web stories seem to be right up his alley. Just take a look at the brilliant Peter Parker 35 to see that he’s better when he writes a self contained story that focuses less on the super-hero stuff and more on the human aspect.

I know, I know, Peter Parker is supposed to be more about the man and not the costume, but JMS is still doing that part better too. Then there is the irony that the best stuff Jenkins wrote all year was probably the Green Goblin arc… still… I just have trouble making my way through most of his books, yet read them dutifully.

Maybe I’m just spoiled.
