if you havent been around them, they tend to stink. Even when they are descented. (At least until you get used to it.) Don't bathe them more than once every other week though. If you do, their skin dries out and they secret more oil to conter the dry skin which makes them stink more. Make sure to use only ferret shampoo. The best way to keep them stink free is to do like Vinnie said and keep the bedding and litter box or cage clean. They like to bite when they are younger. Hard. So don't be alarmed. Just tell him or her "No!" loudly. Whatever you do don't put them down when they bite because ferrets are smart and they learn quick. That teaches them that bite=down. Make sure to becarful how you hold them...because of their long bodies its easy for them to get hurt if you don't support the whole length of their body.
