I think you would not see an avoidance at blasphemy with Mohammed. There could be a fatwah called against a studio etc. Alladin would be ok, but specifically a movie that dealt with Islam in a negative light or in an inaccurate light would be avoided.

As for political-correctness riddle me this....

Would a series like "Hogan's Heros" be aired in this climate? Its doubtful. In 1965 the news media reported "real news" and not "tabloid news" as a result, "Hogan's Heros" never made the news prior to its debut. People watched the show and enjoyed it on its own merits. Today, the news media would jump all over a show like this, saying how bad it is, judging it, etc. Groups would protest in the streets. The network would be swallowed up by the controversy and the show would never get aired.
