Or at least be removed from his (U.S. District) judicial post. First, he threw out the General Accouting Office's lawsuit against the White House requesting information regarding Cheney's secret energy task force meetings. (Anyone remember the whole Enron debacle?) Now he threw out a lawsuit brought by 32 lawmakers seeking to stop Bush's withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.

Guess what? John Bates is a Bush appointee!! Seems that checks and balances no longer serve a function in the American government. Makes it all the easier to take the oil under Iraq's soil, I suppose.

I'd be willing to bet that a few decades from now, the current administration will be considered the most corrupt in U.S. history.
