: Is to stop whining about the old days. If you don't like the flow of conversation, change it. Post something worthwhile once and a while.

I've actually tried this to no avail. It must have been difficult for people to pick it out amongst all of the misspelled "Churlish" imitations that seem to have overwhelmed this place.

:There is no use sitting in the ivory tower of askew board senority watching down.

Did I ever once claim that "seniority" played any part in this other than saying it allows some of us to see what this place has been?

:I have been reading this board for almost four years. It has been the same since. Sure, their were less idiots, but their were less people. The ratio is about the same.

Oh... that makes it better then. Good argument. I must have been stupid to ask for people not to behave that way then.

:The reason people don't talk all things askew anymore is.... it's been talked to death. What is there to say that hasn't been said?

I think you missed my point. I never really wanted it to "go back to the old days." I don't really care if this board is an all-Askew/on-topic board or not. However, intelligent discourse should be valued.

:If all the "riders" would quit bitching about the days of old and started up conversation instead, this board would be a hundred times better.

When was the last time you saw a "rider" (oh by the way, I was never a "rider") post a message bitching about the days of old? When was the last time you saw a rambling, nonsensical post about nothing that even resembles an intelligent thought? Try counting these two types of posts up and comparing for a minute and tell me what numbers you get.

Maybe instead of becoming defensive about what you think my post was about, you should instead read it a little closer. Does the current board frustrate me? Yes. Do I think it keeps Reds from wanting to come here? Yes. Is that just my opinion? Yes. Do I want it to go back to the "days of old?" No. But I do believe that people here could learn from what the more veteran members of this community have seen, rather than dismiss it out-of-hand as us crying about how it used to be.
