But I must say that I never saw any of them. Oh of corse I saw the Mallrats and Chacing Amy ads in my monthly issues of Spider-man, but the enjoyment of accually waching them eluded me.......... that is untill 1999.
: It was mid summer and I was a scrub in a time when TLC wanted no scrubs. I was living with my mom in small town Illinois, taking my "glaucoma" medicine, no really officer I have a perscription but I left it at home, and vegging out getting my daily fix of the history channel, VH1, and Dragonball Z. Then one night my good friend Derek a.k.a. Diggler came over. "Dude," he said, "have you seen Mallrats?" Of course my answer was no. Then he said, "This guy Brodie. He's just like YOU!" We popped in the movie and wouldn't ya know the poor bastard on the screen reflected my own sorry miserable life. I hung out at the mall. I knew a guy like Willem. And I even had many a girlfriend, including my current wife, sneak into my bedroom window to avoid meeting my mother.
: I'm sure there are people who can lay claim to the same thing, but this was different. THIS WAS ME! And to this day people still tell me I remind them of Brodie. I'm not sure this is a good thing, but it sure seemed to help me get the girls when I was single, well girls who liked Mallrats annyway. Well that's my story. Sad as it may be. Now if you excuse me, I promised my wife I'd make her breakfast.
