lost my "concert cherry"
I had a fuckin great time. For my first concert i couldnt have made a better choice. the aquabats were pretty good, they really pumped up the crowd. i dont think i would really spend money on their albums, and their stage shows were hokey as hell, but they played well and i just had a lot of fun. the first opening act was "bad credit" a rap/funk/rock/punk band. like the aquabats, they pumped up the crowd, but i wouldnt buy their stuff.
the second opening act i LOVED. they were called "fairview"
they played amazing, and had some great songs, despite the instruments being so loud i couldnt hear what they were singing about. Try and check out their stuff.
the two girls i went with stayed to the right side. it was actually really boring there. no one was into it at all. plus it was right next to the speaker, so i went deaf quickly. then i just pushed my way into the middle where all the crowd surfing, moshing and ska dancing took place. i had a blast. i really fuckin did. and got quite a work out as well. must have burned a shit load of calories.
i also loved the merchandice. the show was only 15 bucks (well 20 with service fees) because it was a smaller venue indie show. i got two posters and a t shirt all for 12 bucks. far better than the 50 bucks i bet a rolling stones t shirt is.
queens of the stone age are going to be playing at the same concert hall in feb. would love to see em as well
thanks to everyone who gave me advice the other day. i wore the zipper shorts and walked out with everything i came in with :)
