-I always assumed he had the earpiece, cause he couldn't have come up with that stuff just off the top of his head when he was younger. I was only saying that sometimes his comebacks (provided by someone else) aren't exactly what is being said at that time during the filming, and are added later.
Example, lets say in real life, DURING the filming he says something to an old lady that upsets her, like about her wrinkles or something, then he ACTUALLY says something like "well you don't have to get pissed about it", which would cause this old lady to give a further look of disgust towards him. Then AFTER they filmed it, they leave the rest of the skit the same, but add in the phrase "don't get your tits twisted over it" in place of the other response to go with her secondary reaction.
Just watch, cause he does say crazy stuff, but the really bad stuff is always said where you can't see his mouth.
