This is my first post here. I just had to express my amazement at Vulgar. WOW! Brian O'Halloran (applause) that was a VERY powerful performance! It must have been emotionally exhausting to play that role. As well as very couragous! I love that it's all about Karma. As dark as the film is I saw a very uplifting message in it. No matter how bad your life gets (and sometimes it can get REALLY bad) those who hurt you will always get what they deserve because karma exists. And those who try to live a good life will ultimately prevail. It was interesting that Will was not allowed to taint his own karma by hurting those who hurt him through what seemed like chance or bad luck (the gun not firing). But they were destined to destroy themselves. Although Will is changed forever he does end of in a better situation than he was before. Vulgar is a facinating, deep, and engrossing film. Thanks to Kevin for selling it on your website as I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.
After watching all the extras on the dvd, including the film festival responses, it occured to me that there must be a book of rejection letters that all flim/art shows like that use. I have submitted art work (painted sculptures) to art shows and gotten the same kind of response. Due to the number of entries blah, blah, blah. It was really very similar even though it is from two completely different medias. Small world.
