In some ways, the film is off the hook. The final scenes has some great gunplay and swordplay(Japanese-style). One scene has Bale slicing Taye Diggs face clear-away from his body. You see the face fall to the floor, then a split-second later, the remainder of his carcass.
The really bad dude played Robert the Bruce in Braveheart. Bale just has specialty for ruthless, emotionless stares. The face just tells a thousand tales.
