: : : The last minute or so of "Pretty in Pink". Cheesiest cop-out EVER.
: : which bit?where duckie get's the cool chick or andie get's the cool guy?I think that even if duckie did get together with andie it would have been just as cheesy.
: But see...
: Okay, Duckie doesn't get his dream girl, that's realism.
: So WHY does Andie get her dream guy? It's contradictory. I mean, the guy's a jerk, but still, it's all Prince Charming and shit.
: Then he fucks up the whole thing by having the cute girl pop up out of nowhere and take Duckie off to shag. The whole point is lost.
: : Still,I cried like a slapped baby, nearly as much as the end of dirty dancing.
: I just like how the whole "dirty dancing" crew magically has Johnny's dance all memorized, even though he wasn't around to teach it to them.
I agree wih you about p.i.p. it would have been more heartfelt if duckie was left alone at the end,as for andie, well he was a jerk but she was obviously in love with him so right or wrong, she would have gone off with him regardless (love leads you to make stupid decisions like that)as for DD
I'd never thought about that, good point,I'm normally a sobbing lump of snot by that scene.
