I use to like Star Wars. Like, fuck I loved it. My father rmembers to this day one time I yelled "We're going to have company!" He asked me who was here and I paniced and ran off. He later realized I was playing Star Wars.
So, what the fuck happened? Well, first of all, I grew up. I grew up and became jaded as fuck with my movie watching. The dialog in STarwars is painful, PAINFUL! Especially anything delivered by Mark Hamill who was much, much better in Corvette Summer and especially the two dialog scenes in the Ewok village, fist between Luke and Leia and then between Han and Leia.
But that shit happens, you know. You grow up and Scooby Doo isn't as funny anymore. That's why there's weed. But you still retain nostalgia for it because you were a total freak for it when you were a kid.
But it goes on, you see. Lucas took the original three flicks and and spruced them up a bit and added some shit, shit being literal. What happened was no this jaded-ass adult I have become got to see the Star Wars movies as if they were totally new and I didn't like them as much anymore. They weren't the movies I remembered as a kid. I couldn't be nostaligic for them. What the hell was this shit?
Actually, I was in a state of shock a bit when the Special Editions were coming out. When Asked I would say "They were OK..." and then mostly complain about the added scenes. It wasn't until after I saw Phantom Menace the second time that I realised that I really didn't like Star Wars anymore and I shouldn't bother. And I haven't still haven't seen Attack of the Clones and, god willing, I never will. It just doesn't interest me anymore.
I'm posting this not so much to trash Star Wars. I mean, if you like it, then fine. Why do you give a fuck in the sink about what I think? But I'm posting this just so that the contrary opinion gets a voice and that it's not just "St4R w4r$ suxxx d00d" I mean, really.
