: Buddhism and Zen Buddhism?

Zen is a sect of Buddhism. It's less formalized, more personalized and it focuses more on meditation and less on rituals.

I found a lot of the ritual aspects of other types of Buddhism a bit intimidating, and decided to focus on the techniques of meditation. Plus, I'm not any better at remembering which Bodhisattva does what than I was at remembering which saint to light a candle for. ;)
