The only really weak bit of casting in any of Kevin's films was hiring Party Of Five's Jeremy London for the role of T.S. Quint.
Of course, Kevin could've brought back the Quint character and pulled a Darrin Stevens on us and put a different actor in the role, the way he did with Willem Black.
