Kevin Smith,
In the past you have been an inspiration and, even more importantly, a source of enjoyment for me. It is thus, with extreme disappointment, that I write this email. I feel like you sold out to the hollywood idiots by signing this letter that ran in the New York Times the other day. Do you really equate the killing of innocent citizens with "similar scenes in Bagdad, Panama City, and, a generation ago, Vietnam...?" Also, being from New Jersey, I know everytime I go to New York City it still makes me extremely sad and angry about what happened. I was shocked to see your name among those idiots and can only guess that you did so before the wording of it was available. I have all of your DVDs and was looking forward to "Jersey Girl" but I have to say, unless I hear more about your views on the subject, I'm not going to go. I believe that it is ok to have differing views on this subject, but to equate terrorism with legitimate US Military intervention is anti-American. You should remember that when it is the opportunities available in this great nation to allow people to work hard and realize their dreams that allow you to now have influence over the debate.
Sincerely,
David Wright
