Jerry Springer, the former Cincinnati mayor and councilman who lost the Democrat primary for governor in 1982, is thinking about becoming a U.S. senator.

The nationally syndicated TV shock host is considering a challenge to Republican incumbent George Voinovich next year.

Due to the crass content, nudity, weird guest list and general stupidity of the “Jerry Springer Show,” expert political consultants are not anticipating a family values campaign. Springer hinted that he would use his own money to fund what is sure to be an expensive campaign. In fact, at a winter meeting of Ohio Democrats, Springer had some soothing words for the party faithful. He said, “I have the resources.”
