not a bit a deal to have people scroll......you probably want a search function.....again, its all about the grouping....make sure people know how to find what they are looking for....once it is running, have a few friends test it out, give them a product and see how easily they can find it, watch how they relate to the web site....you are so familiar with the site and where stuff is...you might not be the best judge of the usability......i like his ass coconuts!
: But thanks for leaving that out.
: : actually, I think it looks great...but I think that for hte main page you should try to have as litte information "below the fold" as possible...ie, no scrolling down.....there is too much white space at the top of the site.....
: Yeah, the white space is bugging me too. But this page isn't my index page, it's the Home Audio & Video page that you select from the menu on the left.
: :the key to effective web site is to have the products grouped in such a way that makes sense, perhaps you can have menus on the right hands side as well, as long as the groupings make sense...similiar products should be grouped together....it looks really good.......but by using the unused space on the right hand side you could solve the scrolling issue....
: I'm either going to provide a quick links section on the right or a Special of the Week window that will feature a product. Also, I'm making it 800x600 for the common user.
: :I am not an expert but I am in a class for web arcitecture and information architecture right now, and basically all we do is try to make web sites more user friendly........im me if you want to talk more....pac2323
: Cool, I could really use that. This thing is so product intensive that I think I'm loosing sight of the design and getting bogged down in 2000+ products.
