I noticed this was directed to me. I'm not even Catholic, in fact the The only reason I know who William Donohue is because he tried to stop Dogma.

After reading this propaganda I wonder who are they labeling Anti-Catholic bigots. This reminds me on how Hitler rose to fame.

Anyways here is letter I received; (don't shoot the messanger)

Dear Friend:

The year 2002 was not a good one for the Catholic Church. The scandal that arose hurt all Catholics. And while it may be true that the problems in the Church were largely self-induced, IT IS ALSO TRUE THAT THE ENEMIES OF THE CHURCH HAD A FIELD DAY TRYING TO EXPLOIT THE SCANDAL TO FURTHER THEIR OWN AGENDA. All of this and more is chronicled in the Catholic League's 2002 ANNUAL REPORT ON ANTI-CATHOLICISM. This is an expensive item to publish and distribute and that is why I am asking you to make a donation towards this end.

Every institution in society has had its share of problems. None comes to the table with its hands clean. But for some reason when the Catholic Church stumbles and falls, THERE IS A GANG READY TO TRAMPLE ON US. The "some" reason, of course, is no mystery: it is called anti-Catholicism.

It's time we put into the hands of the top decision-makers in the United States one volume that records the degree to which the scandal in the Church was used as fodder by our adversaries. THIS IS WHAT THE ANNUAL REPORT IS ALL ABOUT. It's also about the many other issues that touched the Church in an adverse way in 2002. Perhaps most important, the annual report details the success the Catholic League as had in beating back the tide of bigotry.

WHO READS OUR ANNUAL REPORT? Copies are sent to every bishop in the nation; all the major media outlets get one; Catholic colleges and universities receive a free copy; elites in government get; prominent lawyers and corporate leaders are on our list; and so on.

No civil rights organization can be taken seriously if it doesn't publish a document that irrefutably demonstrates its reason for being. This is what the annual report does - IT OFFERS TESTIMONY TO THE EXISTENCE OF ANTI-CATHOLICISM IN OUR SOCIETY.

There are several sections in the annual report: activist organizations; the arts; business and the workplace; education; government; the media; and a miscellaneous entry. All the evidence is there for everyone to see. IT IS THE MOST DETAILED RECORD OF ANTI-CATHOLICISM PUBLISHED ANYWHERE IN THE NATION AND IT IS SOMETHING EVERY CATHOLIC LEAGUE MEMBER CAN BE PROUD TO SHOW.

The reason I know that our annual report is a success is because every year we publish this document, more and more people want to buy a copy. THE REQUESTS WE GET FROM SENIOR DECISION-MAKERS--FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE--IS ANOTHER INDICATION THAT WE ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. And given the events of 2002, it is a sure bet that this annual report will be more in demand than ever before.

Those of you who have seen previous copies of our annual report know that it is a first-class looking volume. It is important that we maintain that level of quality, but to do so costs plenty. That is why I am asking you to help pay for the costs involved. BY MAKING A CONTRIBUTION TO THE APPEAL, YOU WILL PLAY A ROLE IN GETTING THE CATHOLIC LEAGUE'S 2002 ANNUAL REPORT ON ANTI-CATHOLICISM INTO THE RIGHT HANDS. And that's just what the Catholic-basing gang fears most--proof of their bigotry.

Sincerely,

William A. Donohue
President
