That scene in the opening with the son who jumped off the roof and was shot by his parents unintentionally. It was featured in an episode of Homicide too and I always figured that it was too crazy for someone to have made up, but I watched a TLC program about urban myths the other night and the other segment in Magnolia's opening (with the scuba diver and the forest fire) turned out to be a complete fabrication. I guess I'm just curious now if anyone knows if that shotgun story is real or fake.
