Six Sense cause his style was new at the time.
Unbreakable was decent, but too many similar elements are in his other films, including the "water is a weakness" theme. I think people didn't like it as much because they weren't expecting to see a watered down Superman.
Six Sense, I know people hated the end, but it HAD to happen that way. It's what the whole film was setting up for. And we HAD to see the alien. I loved the Hitchcock-nod in the style.
I hear his next one is about a Ouja board.
