-Well, why didn't you just walk up to one of these "backward" shoe shiners and tell them that YOU thought what THEY were doing was backwards. I am SO freaking sure, they would have been like "Uh, you know what, I never thought about that, what am I doing?". They are their because they want to be there. Did you happen to see somebody standing by with a whip or gun keeping them at their station? People make choices. Is a black person bad if they do actually like watermelon? Hell no, I know plenty.
