Mark Pendleton(sp?) did a fantastic job with his follow up film Mothman Prophecies. Creepy fuckin movie. The great thing about it is that he proposes one of the trippiest concepts ever conceived in a horror film. His contention is: if you were dead, would you know it? And I don't mean the way of the Sixth Sense. He proposes that the experience of being human is that when we die we become human beings. That's why we are at odds with the animal kingdom. Mulloland Drive also proposes this (that time runs backwards, not forwards, and every event is really leading from, not to, our death). But the difference is one of sheer horror vs philosophical discussion. Ultimately, watching Mothman I started to wonder if I even existed at all! Truly a film worth watching... can't wait until his next movie!
