I would just say emerse yourself in it. Obsess about it all the time. With that attention it'll turn out better. And keep checking yourself to make sure that what you're writing isn't just a recycled version of stuff that's been done before. I wrote a couple student screenplays, thought I was done, then read through them and realized I had borrowed (stolen) from other movies I had seen, they were no longer original or entertaining.
