I gave up on the Catholic religion years ago.... I was raised staunch irish catholic and it broke my families heart when I denounced catholism. That was about 8 years ago. The issues with the preists molesting children is very close to home (VERY CLOSE). But everytime I hear Amazing Grace or Be Not Afraid, my feelings towards catholism and a sense of comfort comes rushing back.
I have realized that maybe I still am Catholic and the reasons why I turned my back on it was because it was forced down my throat as a kid.
Do I turn my back on the current religion I adopted?
