Because as big a Hitchhiker's fan as he is, I don't think even he could write a proper script.

: OK, first post in this board. Lured here by Kevin Smith's excessive pimping of this site on the Jay and Silent Bob DVD!

: On the subject of hitch-hikers I heard that the major reason why a possible film has not come about so far is because most of the major film studios were not keen on having an Enlgishman (Arthur) as the main character. You'll find that most writers hate the idea of having their work re-written and apparently he would not agree to any film studio changing Arthur's nationality. I really don't think the film would sell to American audiences due to the "Englishness" of most of the material, most of the Krikkit stuff would go straight over a lot of peoples heads!

: I don't know, maybe it could be rewritten so that Arthur comes from New Jersey?

: A bit of Vogon poetry for any Douglas Adams fans out there:

: Oh freddled gruntbuggly.
: Thy micturations are to me,
: as plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.
: Groop I implore thee,
: my foonting turlingdromes.
: And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
: or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with mu blurglecruncheon,
: see if I don't!

I thought some of the metaphysical entry was really particularly
effective!
