What's up dude, Long Island represent!
I did a short film at college, and I sat on it for a whole semester because it was set to premiere with another film I was working on. I was very anxious 'cause of course you're dying to see how your film does.
But the grace period was great. If you step away from a project for awhile, and then come back to it after your mind is cleared, you really come up with some good ideas for improving it. Sometimes I get too deep into things that I don't even know what's what anymore (especially when you do your own editing). Taking up to several months off made me appreciate and enjoy the film even more when I came back to it.
That's just me.
