They claim to be economically minded, when they're prepared to spend billions on war instead of millions on inspections. The economy is getting worse and worse. Sadly, this is what happens when you fill a government with warmongers.
: Anyone I have talked to here in NY (so far) is against the war. Noone is in disagreement that Saddam is a bad, bad man, however - nobody wants to go to war in Iraq. There are the few that are very gung-ho about it, but they really are in the minority. A lot of people think the efforts should still be placed into finding Osama, and plenty are worried about the North Korea situation.
: Personally, I don't want it either. At with the increased security all around the city, it is costing NYC 5 million dollars a WEEK. With the economy the way it is, I mean..that's not going to make things any better. I do hope people are reassured. And I'm not trying to put a dollar value on our safety. But economically, this is going to keep getting worse. That, and I worry about retaliation as well, I guess. I love where I live, but I wouldn't mind not living near so many landmarks.
