First off, if you actually had respected him, you'd think it was tragic, even if you lost that respect for him.
: : So you had respect for him when you thought he was acting that way all the time, but now that you find out that he's actually just a tragic case, you lose respect? I don't get it.
: I don't buy all that stuff about how he's a victim of the drugs. It's bullshit.
I didn't say he was a victim of drugs, I said he was a tragic case from the beginning.
: I used to have a drug problem and it was my fault- I fully admit that.
I'm not going to discount your suffering, nor am I trying to say that Mewes is in the right at all. But I still fail to see how somebody that you claim to respect being "lost" to drugs *isn't* tragic.
: I had respect for him because he was a normal guy who got paid to do what I love (movies). He had the chance to clean himself up, but he skipped out. I have no repect for someone who obviously has none for themself.
So, basically, you used to respect him because he was in movies, but now that he's not in movies, you don't respect him.
My question, which you've misunderstood slightly, was meant as "How can you respect somebody for acting like a drug addict but then lose that respect because they weren't acting?" I don't get that.
