: I used to be jealous of people who had friends they'd known all their lives, but in the end I found those people also often had a very narrow view of the world, and never usually strayed far from the place they were born.
: Downside is, I find it hard to see things through to the end in lots of things - I get bored easily.
ok, j/k. But honestly, and this'll be my last me too, but: me too. I get the itch to move all the time, and I'm not really good with follow-through. I can't believe when someone tells me they've never seen the ocean, or they've never been out of their home state/province/island/whatever. I just can't fathom how people can live in one place their whole lives. Although when I was younger, I did often wish for that very thing. I always wanted to say
"remember tha slumber party in 3rd grade" or "remember when you fell out of the tree when we were six?"
I've been here in Arizona (US) for almost 5 years now, and I find myself reminiscing about things I these 5 years with my friends. This is the longest time I've spent around the same people ever. We talk about the 'old days' and I feel better about not having those earlier memories to share, because these are more fresh in my mind, and I was more emotionally 'here' for them.
Good times. Nice reminiscing every now and again, I think.
