: I would have said this was off-topic, but granted what was most rilin' the board up today (though quite possibly, I think Mewes is just a less controversial subject than the war, and we'd rather fight about ANYTHING else at this point);

: 1) Should a public figure's personal life play into how they are perceived? Examples: Roman Polanski & Woody Allen (sexual deviancy), Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Taylor (high-profile romantic adventurism), Marilyn Manson (wierd religion), Jason Mewes (don't make me smack you), etc.

only if its something super serious like pedophila murder etc...in other words only if they are a danger to others, for the sake of warning.

: Have they given up their right to privacy by choosing a public life? Or should their public career be considered separately from their personal business?
no they have not given up the right to a private life.

: 2) Does it matter if the person is a politician, or an artist, an athlete or a businessman? Should some public figures be allowed to have more privacy than others?
I think ppls private lives, providing its not something like peodophila or murder etc, are just that THIER private lives. I mean come one i did not care that Clinton got a BJ in the oval office.

: 3) Should public figures who aren't politicians make political statements? I.e. is it their duty to remain neutral, or their duty to use the platform they've been given to speak their minds?

Everyone has a right to their opinion and convictions, and being the public clamours for every sound bite possible form celebs, why not use their status to be heard?

: 4) Do you approve of celebrities entering politics? I.e. Ronald Reagan, Jesse Ventura, Jane Fonda, etc.
If they are qualified, yes

: 5) Do you approve of the Grammies, and presumably the Oscars, being censored?
i dont give a flying fig

: That's all.
